AMANDA J. WILLIAMS, MD

Board-Certified Psychiatrist

Dr. Williams is originally from Tallahassee, FL. She received her medical doctorate from the University of South Florida and then trained at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center’s Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic, one of the largest and most reputable psychiatry residency programs in the country. There she was the chief resident of inpatient services and completed a one-year fellowship in Community Mental Health. She is now an esteemed psychiatrist in the Montgomery, Alabama community.

She primarily treats adults with disorders of mood, anxiety, psychosis, and personality, along with those struggling with addiction, past trauma, intellectual disabilities, and memory difficulties. She is a strong advocate for individuals suffering from mental illness and absolutely loves helping individuals find genuine wellness. 

In efforts to improve healthcare and advance medicine in Alabama, Dr. Williams completed the Auburn University Physician Executive MBA program in 2018. She is currently the Vice President of the Medical Association of the State of Alabama and serves on the Alabama Board of Medical Examiners.

JAMIE M. PRUITT, LPC

Ms. Jamie Pruitt has over twenty years of clinical and administrative experience in the mental health field. She has worked alongside Dr. Williams for over two years helping individuals overcome personal struggles and build a life full of peace and fulfillment. She is skilled in the treatment of adults, children, couples and families. Jamie uses a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches to treat and support individuals struggling with mood disorders, anxiety, trauma, situational distress, and personality disorders, along with other illnesses. 

CANDYCE ANDERSON, LPC

Licensed Professional Counselor

Ms. Candyce Anderson is a graduate of Howard University with Bachelors of Science in Psychology and a Master’s Degree from Troy University in Counseling & Psychology concentrating in Clinical Mental Health.  Candyce’s clinical experience includes specialized training in the treatment of survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault & abuse and trauma in addition to those struggling with depression, anxiety, adjustment to life events and other mental health concerns. Prior to joining Gardenia Cove, she worked at the  Samaritan Counseling Center,  Family Sunshine Center and Family Justice Center counseling victims of intimate partner violence. She counsels adults, couples and adolescents struggling with issues like depression, anxiety, relationships, gender issues (LGBTQ+), and many others.

AUBREY CARPENTER, LICSW

Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker

Ms. Aubrey Carpenter has a passion for helping people feel empowered to improve the quality of their lives. She graduated from UAB with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Social Work from Alabama A&M. She has extensive clinical experience working with many individuals in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She specializes in counseling adults and couples struggling with a wide range of symptoms including depression, anxiety, stress, anger, mood disorders, addiction, and personality disorders.

ROBERT PASLEY, LPC

Licensed Professional Counselor

Mr. Robert Pasley holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and a Master of Art Degree in Professional Counseling. He has nearly two decades of social service experience in hospitals, mental health clinics, correctional facilities and other community agencies. He believes in creating an environment that is collaborative, supportive and compassionate. His goal is finding the most effective combination of therapeutic approaches to help patients become successful in achieving and maintaining meaningful change. He provides therapy for adults coping with a variety of issues including anger, self-esteem, addictions, life transitions, interpersonal conflict, grief/loss, trauma/abuse, anxiety, mood disorders, psychosis and personality disorders.

RACHEL M. LINER MSN, PMHNP-BC

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Rachel Liner is a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with extensive experience in the mental health field. She started as an energetic psychiatric nurse devoted to the care of her patients.  She worked side by side with Dr. Amanda Williams for three years as her invaluable nurse and then as a nurse practitioner student. Her passion for excellent clinical care and collaborative practice is palpable. Rachel Liner has worked with patients struggling with a variety of mental health issues in high acuity inpatient units, a community mental health center, and in an outpatient practice. She integrates expert medication management with other therapeutic modalities to help adults with a wide range of emotional challenges and psychiatric diagnoses. She is committed to patient wellness and improving life satisfaction. Rachel Liner received her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and is credentialed through the American Nursing Credentialing Center.

BRADY E. BEZIAT LICSW

Brady Beziat is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker invested in supporting individuals in the pursuit of a more peaceful and fulfilling life. Using a variety of therapeutic techniques, he works with those looking to improve resiliency to stress, manage symptoms of a variety of psychiatric disorders, or simply cope with life’s challenges. He brings humor, honesty, and compassion to his practice. He has cared for individuals in both the inpatient and outpatient setting and is able to provide a valuable calm to very distressing circumstances. 

DERRICK C. MANORA, MS, LPC

Derrick C. Manora, MS, LPC-S received his undergraduate degree from The University of Alabama earning a BA in psychology. He received his Master of Science in Counseling and Human Development from Troy State University Montgomery (Troy University Montgomery). He has over twenty years of experience in the counseling field. Derrick works with families, couples, adolescents and adults coping with stress, anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder. Derrick’s career has included adult and juvenile justice settings, substance use disorders, and inpatient psychiatric therapy including individual and group therapy. His therapeutic approach is individualized drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Person Centered Therapy. Derrick’s eclectic and individualized approach allows him to see the person and not merely the diagnosis.

WHITNEY JERKINS, LPC, NCC

Licensed Professional Counselor

Ms. Whitney Jerkins specializes in working with patients who are struggling with past trauma, mood disorders, anxiety, self-injurious behaviors and suicidal thoughts. Utilizing an individualized approach to therapy, she draws from cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and dialectical behavioral therapy while using person-centered therapeutic techniques. She studied Communicative Disorders at the University of Alabama and then obtained her master's in clinical mental health counseling from Auburn University at Montgomery. She has experience working with patients of all ages and prioritizes creating a caring and nurturing therapeutic environment.
